Time Travelers' Ball - September 6!

The Victorian Society of Colorado is pleased to announce the date for the annual VSC Grand Victorian Ball.

Reserve September 6, 2014 for a very special night of fun and dancing.

To be held at the Colorado Springs Shrine Club, 6 South 33rd Street.

It's the Time Travelers' Ball.  Revelers will be dressed in any appropriate formalwear dating from Renaissance to Victorian.  So that would be, like, from 1300 to 1900.  Excellent!  Lots of options.  Dances from three distinct periods.  Music by Cynthia Robinson and Trio Allegretto.

VSC Enjoys Luncheon With The Lincolns

May 31 at the Lakewood Heritage Center, VSC hosted Abraham and Mary Lincoln (John and Pam Voehl) in their presentation of "Lincoln's Happiest Day."  It was April 14, 1865 as the President and First Lady prepared for their evening at Ford's Theater to view the play, "Our American Cousin."  The presentation was preceded by a catered lunch and followed with Victorian dancing.  Our many thanks go to the Voehl's and to Kimary Marchese who brought this event together.

Victorian Society Reorganization

Our Victorian Society has emerged from reorganization with the first event of 2014, the membership social and pot luck at the Black Forest Community Center held Saturday, January 18.  Enthusiastic Victorians from across the state, from Denver to Walsenburg, came to show their support for the reborn Victorian Society.  President, Denise Winter, announced that we more than met our objective of having thirty members sign up for 2014.  Denise also reported that since more than half of our membership resides outside of Colorado Springs, we will offically change our name to the Victorian Society of Colorado.  Our intention is to be more inclusive and to conduct events outside of Colorado Springs to include Denver, Pueblo, Canon City and other locations.

The Board of Directors for 2014 are: Denise Winter, President; Kimary Marchese, Membership Chair; Annette Mascia, Secretary; and Board Members, Betty Andrews and Bill Donaldson.
